My work is on air pollution. I received the review comments more than 3 months after the submission: two reviewers, major revisions. I carefully revised the paper and re-submitted and then it was accepted. I feel that even though the reviewer was very rigorous (and it should be), the editors are very nice and replied to my email super fast. I encourage everyone to contribute. Although the journal started in 2013, the impact factor is not low.

EF should be one of the top journals in the field of global change, with many studies in the fields of physical geography as well as interdisciplinary research in social and economic areas. Apart from its sub-journals, it may only be slightly weaker than GCB and GEC. The submission process is as follows:

Each round takes about a month and a half, which is considered efficient. However, one drawback is that each submission has to be reviewed by the AGU editorial team for several days before being assigned to the handling editor. The handling editor's decision also needs to be reviewed by the AGU editorial team for a week before sending the author a decision letter, which can slow down the process.

It's currently difficult to evaluate who is better between EF and CEE. These two belong to comprehensive journals and are usually submitted to their sub-journals for downgrading if they are not accepted, so quality is guaranteed. From the current quality of published articles, it does indeed match this positioning, being one level below comprehensive sub-journals. However, journals like GRL and WRR belong to the top journals in their respective professional fields, making it difficult to compare EF and CEE to them
