The time of the status changed twice in the middle, and the status was always under review. The review comments returned on March 23, requiring a major revision. The revision was submitted on April 13, under review a week later, and then accepted on May 12. It took 4 months from submission to acceptance. Thanks to the editors and reviewers for their valuable comments. They are very responsible. The review cycle of 4 months is quite fast as a Q4 journal. I hope the journal will get better and better!

After a long seven-month wait, finally accepted. Dec. 2015: submitted to WST; Jan. 2016 transferred to WST: WS. 16.3. Reviewed took 2 and a half months, 2 external reviewers, major revision. Revised for one month, resubmitted in May 2016. Minor revision, so we resubmitted soon in June 2016. Another minor revision. July 2016 finally accepted, and soon the proof and then online. I feel the acceptance rate is high, but the review period is getting longer and longer. The standards for English are not very high, because I didn’t even use a language editing company. Well, one of the reviewers did say that the meaning of some sentences could not be understood.

According to the latest journal classification by JCR, this journal has merged with Water Supply (which is actually an independent supplement under Water Science and Technology), collectively referred to as Water Supply. In order to develop Water Supply, IWA will basically transfer articles received by WS&T to WS with the consent of the authors (as I know from my and my colleagues' submission experience). Therefore, there is basically no separate publication called Water Science and Technology-Water Supply, only Water Supply.
