My advisor plans to publish a book, so made me write a few reviews. One of them is on optics and was submitted to this journal. My advisor should be well known in the field, so the paper was soon accepted, after I made some changes and added some content as requested. Writing a review is so difficult. You have to read so many papers and have to thoroughly understand every single one of them. This journal is ranked in Q1, but I hope the impact factor will go up further, because I have submitted a second paper, this time a research article. Still waiting for the results.

I have submitted two articles, and the peer review process was quite fast. There were two to three reviewers, and it took no more than two months from submission to final decision. Although this journal has a relatively high impact factor, there are several drawbacks. Firstly, it is facing a downgrade in its classification next year. Secondly, Chinese researchers contribute to half of the publication volume. Thirdly, the quality of the articles is somewhat inconsistent. Fourthly, the surge in publication volume has led to a stagnation in the impact factor. Lastly, the publication fee is slightly expensive.
