This is the only worst journal. The quality of the articles is really uneven. I thought that as the page fee was so high, the review speed would be faster... But it showed a pending decision on the second day after the first review. After half a month’s decision, it became an under review. I could understand it, for being a rigorous journal. Then there was a small problem after the second review. The reviewer asked us to add a limitation (minor review), and it showed a pending decision the next day, then in half a month, it became under review again. What??? Even if you mean to be rigorous, if you can't make even the most basic decisions, why should we need you??? Just let the reviewers decide directly. Now it has been 4 months for the third review, and almost 9 months before and after... It has been in my blacklist, and I will always despise it all my life!!!

The editor-in-chief of this journal is professor Qingyi Wei of Duke University. I have submitted three times before, and have an article accepted by the top journal in the field (IF = 3.8). The under review is displayed on the second day after the submission each time. And then, it was rejected in 2 or 3 weeks and there were no external review comments. The quality of the articles in this journal is uneven, and several public database articles related to surgery have obviously fault, but they were accepted. I don’t know if it’s because they want to earn the publication fees. After all, the publication fee is very high.

After submission, the manuscript became under review immediately. There was no news from the editor. After waiting for nearly a month, the manuscript was directly rejected, without any review comments. It showed reject without review. The editor's evaluation took one month. This journal is too speechless.

On the day after the submission, the status became under review. I waited a month and then send an e-mail to the journal to ask about the status of the manuscript, got a reply that they have found reviewers who agreed to review the manuscript, please be patient. Now two months have passed, and the decision is reject without review. If there was no review, why wait two months? Why did they reply that they already had reviewers? If this was reviewed by some reviewers, why is the decision rejected without review? This journal is unfriendly and I’m putting it in my blacklist.
