I used to submit to Journal of Geophysical Research; I tried submitting to Astrophysical Journal, and it left a very good impression on me! Let’s talk about it in several aspects: 1) The submission format (AAS format) looked good, which was much better than Journal of Geophysical Research (just personal opinion); 2) The efficiency of the editor and reviewers was high. The key point was that AE worked on weekends, it took a week and one weekend from submission to acceptance after minor revision (of course, my colleagues said that it was the first time they met an article with such short review time); and 3) AE wasn’t entangled in very small issues, but valued the significance of the article. However, what the one on the 4th floor said was really a problem. From now on, CAS starts to focus on Nature-Index. A long article on Space Physics. It is not Nature.
