Reviewed 2022-12-22 12:11:49 Generally speaking, a journal will obtain an impact factor after being indexed in SCI for 3 years. However, there is one journal that has been indexed by SCI for over 50 years and still does not have an impact factor! This journal is Abstracts of Papers of the American Chemical Society, which is affiliated with the American Chemical Society. Strictly speaking, this is not considered a journal because as the name suggests, it is actually a collection of abstracts. It mainly consists of abstracts of conference papers accepted by ACS. According to the formula, Abstracts of Papers of the American Chemical Society is in an awkward situation. Because all the publications in this journal are abstracts, the values for articles and reviews are 0. With a denominator of 0, it is impossible to calculate an impact factor!
