The initial review took about 12 months; three reviewers, one of them requested major revision, and the other two requested minor revisions. The reviewer were very responsible (5 pages of comments!) and gave me a lot of constructive comments. A reviewer also recommended a few books and said that if I didn’t have them he can send me the electronic version. It took us 2 months to amend the paper based on the review. It was accepted after 4 months. After another 3 months, published and is searchable. It took 22 months from the submission to the final recruitment; really very slow. However, after the acceptance, publication was very fast. The editor was very responsible. This journal was founded in 1894, so it is a long-standing journal, but the submission system is not that easy to use. Although the impact factor is not high, it has published some quite high-quality papers. Several articles on high-stress rock bursts authored by Cook are well known in the field. Submitted on August 20, 2013; September 5, 2014, first review; September 28, 2014, revised version submitted; December 7, 2014, second review; April 12, 2015, revised version submitted; June 3, 2015, accepted; August 2015, searchable on Web of Science.
