I see nobody has commented on this journal, so here is my experience. I think first your paper has to be novel, and second you should cite some papers from this journal. If the evaluations given by the reviewers (1-3) are not that bad, most time your paper will be accepted. We needed to make changes to the author list during the revision, so we had to explain this to the journal and that  delayed the process by half a month. I think the manuscript processing time is a week. The review process is very slow, it took four months to receive the reviewers' comments. Originally planned to submit to the ASME conference, but missed the abstract submission deadline and couldn't submit the full paper. Submitted directly to JAFM instead, overall quality and length similar to conference papers, and it's still SCI, so a small gain compared to conference papers.

Peer review of the journal is very fast. I got my 1st review by 1 month. I had 3 reviewers. 1 opposed against publishing my manuscript and 2 supporting for publication. All reviewers were very professional and rigorous. It took 2 months to incorporate all comments made by reviewer but it was very much worthy. I felt the quality of my manuscript improved a lot after incorporating all review comment. It took hardly  2 days to accept my revised manuscript after submission.
