My research direction was the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases by nutritional active ingredients. The research was based on animal experiments. The amount of data was quite large. At that time, in order to catch graduation in December, I submitted it to this journal for guarantee. If it weren't for graduation in a hurry, looking back, a manuscript with so much data can be submitted to a journal with IF over 5. The in vitro experiment part and the experimental data of the population was published in MNFR. This animal experiment part was published separately. The manuscript was submitted on July 26, 2019. Unexpectedly, it was still with Editor at the end of August. It was sent for an external review in the middle. Perhaps some reviewers didn’t have time to review it, so it was sent back to Editor again. I was so anxious to death. The boss asked me to wait slowly and not to urge the Editor. Later, at the beginning of September, it was finally sent for review. The review comments returned during the National Day. A total of 2 Reviewers. The first reviewer asked two small questions. The second reviewer asked the question of dosage. In short, they were all minor problems. They didn't let me supplement the experiments. I revised and returned it on October 8. It was accepted on October 15. So, it took almost 3 months from submission to acceptance. The main reason was that the review process was too slow, and the subsequent acceptance was very fast.

I feel the review process is fast. Some people say that the review time is long, may be because their papers are on different topics than mine. The initial review is took one month, and the decision was major revision, no deadline. However, I felt I shouldn’t wait too long to resubmit, so I set a timeframe of 45 days for myself. However, something happened and I felt I wouldn’t be able to finish on time so I wrote to the editor. The editor quickly responded. Eventually I used months to revise the paper. The editor was very nice, replied soon, and accepted the paper about one month after my re-submission. Very efficient, I think.
