It’s a disgusting journal which gave some comments casually and rejected the articles from outsiders. The valueless articles of the editor’s students can be basically accepted, which can be published in less than one month. The previous editor did not do like this; it seems that this journal is about to degenerate.

It was not as easy as what posted below. TRE is still very difficult, second only to the two journals, EJOR and COR. The manuscripts of many people around me, including the professor, were criticized as good-for-nothing by the reviewers. Even if it was accepted, it had been strictly revised for several times.

It was submitted on October 2d9, 2018. In the first round, major revision was required on December 1. I submitted the revised manuscript on December 31. In the second round, major revision was required on February 29, 2019. I submitted the revised manuscript on February 22, and it was accepted on March 30. The review efficiency of Theory and Research in Education is high. The reviewers were given one month in each round. It can be published in 3 months if it is accepted after a revision.

I submitted once and got the rejection letter the next day. The letter is as follows: Thank you for choosing Transportation Research as a channel for publishing your manuscript. After reading the paper, I agree that the topic of the paper is interesting and impressive. However, I still have two main questions. First, the paper, including its subject matter and content, may not be suitable for the journal’s aim and scope. The evidence I have supporting this is that, no relevant TRE references have been cited for discussion to show that this paper will be of interest to most TRE readers. Second, the research content of the paper may not meet the publication standards. TRE prefers a paper that can clearly demonstrate its incremental contribution to the field of transportation and logistics. Relevant literature should be cited to clarify the following: (1) the importance of solving this problem and the method for solving the problem, (2) the novelty and unique characteristics of the proposed method relative to published methods or models, and (3) important findings and management insights from analyzing the results. Unfortunately, I didn’t find sufficient rationales and discussion to clarify the issue. Specifically, this paper seems to be application-oriented, while the methodological innovation over published models appears to be weak.

Recently I submitted an article, and personally I feel that the Part series is actually more focused on solving problems in the transportation field, which is more important. If the method is done well, submit it directly to OR; if the AI algorithm is done well, submit it directly to the top journals. Of course, the acceptance rate of EJOR is lower, so it should be more difficult.

This magazine has been in decline since Meng Qiang took over as the chief editor in 2020. Recently, the decline has been rapid. I recently reviewed the magazine because I haven't submitted to it for several years. According to the previous review standards, I rejected an article (lacking any innovation and theoretical depth). I found that the other reviewers all either accepted or made minor revisions to the article, which left me feeling very puzzled. So I looked through the recent issues of the magazine and discovered that, wow, it has been completely taken over by Chinese people, no wonder it has turned into a low-quality publication. I suggest that in the future, everyone should submit their articles to journals like EJOR and COR, and avoid this one
