I have submitted three articles to this journal. The first article was submitted on October 31 2018, and it took nearly 4 months before acceptance. It took less than 3 months each before the acceptance of the second and third articles. 10/31/2018 – 02/20/2019, completed; accept: 02/20/2019. 01/07/2020 – 03/30/2020, completed; accept: 03/30/2020. 02/25/2020 – 05/15/2020, completed; accept: 05/15/2020.

A total of two articles have been submitted to this journal, one in 2019 and one in 2020. Both took 2 months from submission to revision to final acceptance. It is very efficient, and it is a good choice in gardening journals. What I did is physiologic, without any molecular-related content, so I think it's pretty good. At least I think the efficiency is quite high. I will continue to submit to it if I have a chance in the future.

Submitted on October 11, 2018, under review a few days later. It was returned for revision on January 22 and 40 days were given for modification. There were two experts’ comments, one with few comments and the other with many comments. Revised on February 27, 2019, and the status changed to under review again. April 29, 2019, the manuscript was accepted. I do research in the field of application, and less discussion the on mechanism. I feel that the journal is not too harsh and thanks to the editors and the reviewers.

I submitted an article about the direction of molecular breeding. Although there are few articles on molecular breeding in Scientia Horticulturae, there is some room for others. I submitted on June 7, 2012, and was told the paper needed an overhaul after 2 months. Resubmitted after a week of revision and received a letter saying paper required minor revisions after a week or so. Submitted 1 day later, accepted on September 4, 2012. It took almost three months and was slower than other journals that I have previously submitted to, but it was acceptable because the overall review process is still relatively fast and the reviewers are also very professional. I don't know how much the page fee costs.

I withdrew the submission from Plant Cell & Environment after a month and submitted this one. It was submitted on August 7th, reviewed on September 6th, and one of the four reviewers accepted the review. Today is September 17th, the Mid-Autumn Festival, and just now that reviewer completed the review. I guess it might be because the article received $3000 in publication fees after becoming open access on September 1st, which led to more submissions before September, and also because of the summer vacation, the editors had more manuscripts on hand, so the process slowed down. The overall speed is quite good, with many processes and reviewers. Elsevier's review tracking is done very well, clearly showing the number of reviewers, acceptance of reviews, and completion of reviews. The editors are very efficient, with conclusions usually given within 2 days of the review being completed. In February, two submissions to a first-tier journal were rejected, but in April the system recommended this journal, saving the need to revise the format and find another suitable journal. The first review was completed in about 15 days, with a major revision taking 42 days. Strangely, the system set a 20-day deadline for resubmission, which was a 5.1-day gap. After resubmission, it showed 6 reviewers, with 2 providing reviews. Another major revision was requested, with the second review likely involving new reviewers as the opinions differed from the first review. In mid-June, an "acceptable after minor revision" decision was received, followed by resubmission in early July showing 2 reviewers assigned. One reviewer was busy and did not provide a review, but on July 22 the editor accepted the submission directly. The agreement and proof were completed on July 23. Overall, the review process of this journal is relatively fast, with a user-friendly system and reviewers who have high expectations for experimental design and data processing.
