The first submission on April 18, 2023 was undone by the editors after being submitted, and an email was sent to the corresponding author. Due to the corresponding author not responding promptly, it took 10 days for me to find out about this. The reason for the withdrawal was that there were issues with the citation format of my references, and I was asked to make corrections and resubmit.
The second submission on April 28, 2023 went under review shortly after. This was followed by the lengthy process of finding reviewers, during which I sent two emails inquiring about the status.
On June 22, 2023, I inquired about the status of the review for the first time. The reply was as follows: "While six reviewers declined, four have accepted the invitation. One has already returned an evaluation. So, the process is slower than we imagined, but it is progressing. What we need is not just one perspective, of course."
On August 1, 2023, I inquired about the review status for the second time. The reply was: "We need at least one more review to gather enough information to make a decision, maybe two. We have enough commitments, and I expect we will receive the review reports by the end of August."
Returned for major revisions on August 22, 2023, and resubmitted on September 12, 2023.
