It took a full 12 months and a few more days for the first review. Was the editor too embarrassed to not reply to me? This is a waste of time, and you can’t submit it to another one at the same time, which is unfriendly to the author. They required us to resubmit it, and we decisively transfer it to another journal. Submitted in mid-April 2023, the manuscript was under review with the editor until mid-July. It was then sent for peer review, and the reviewer comments were received in mid-September. Two major revisions were required, and the revised manuscript was resubmitted in early October. The second round of reviewer comments came in mid-November, with one acceptance and one minor revision. The manuscript was revised again in mid-December and was officially accepted on January 5th. Overall, the process was quite fast, and I am very thankful to the editor for their prompt handling of the manuscript, which did not delay the timeline much. It's a pity that the manuscript was not accepted in the targeted journal section. I will consider submitting future papers to this journal
