It took 45 days for the first review (major revision was required), 28 days for the second review (minor revision was required), and it was accepted 3 to 4 days after the third review. From submission to acceptance, including revision time, a total of 122 days were taken. After acceptance, I immediately registered student membership of Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) (50 US Dollars. My teacher paid for it after the information was filled in, because my card cannot be paid). Then I sent the email to the editorial department and told my membership number. There is no news yet (actually I don't know if I should post it, but after reading the situation of Xiaomuchong and netizens, I sent the membership number to the editorial department).

I'm doing research on the structure and activity of polysaccharide extraction. I don't know whether the review speed of this journal is fast or not. The evaluation on the internet is quite slow. I turned to Xiao Mu Chong, where I couldn't find anyone who submitted to this journal. I have always submitted manuscripts to this journal and they were rejected all the time. The reviewers are very thorough. There were not only three reviewers, but also two scientific editors who advised on the design and language of the article. Many of the grammatical errors in my first draft of the article were corrected by the editors and reviewers. The rejection letter from my friend came within 10 days, which was very fast. I submitted my paper and it was sent back for major revisions after 40 days. After 28 days of revisions, it was sent back for minor revisions, which were completed in two days and then accepted.

The comments and questions raised by the editors and reviewers were very constructive, thorough, and responsible. They were not delaying at all and all their feedback was well-intentioned.

This is what a good journal should be like. It is a journal that has been established for almost 100 years, but it has been downgraded to a level 3 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, which is very frustrating.

I hope this journal will continue to improve and that those involved in the process will have a conscience.

Submitted on 23rd November 2024, the article was rejected due to a high similarity index of 10.30. After revisions on 11th November, it was resubmitted and went under review within 2-3 days. The review comments were received on 12th December, with feedback from three reviewers that was quite constructive. The authors were given 28 days for revisions. However, the process was delayed significantly due to revisions on another article. The revised article was finally returned on 8th January 2025. There were further delays due to authorship issues, as changes to the authors were not allowed after submission. The article was finally accepted on 6th March, with a second round of revisions scheduled for two months later, which was considered quite lengthy.

11.28 submitted for review, under review within one week. 12.29 received comments from four reviewers, with varying opinions (28 days for revisions). 1.23 revised submission returned. 2.15 reviewers all approved, editor requested minor language revisions and reducing the word count by 20%. 2.27 revised submission returned. 3.4 accepted for publication.

Overall, the efficiency is quite high, the editors are all good. Additionally, registering as a student member for only $50 allows for free submissions for a year!! What a great deal!! Also, it has been upgraded to a 2nd tier journal in recent years, everyone should give it a try.

The submission was made on June 19, 2024 and was reviewed in about 5 days. Feedback for revisions was received on August 30, with all three reviewers being very thorough and responsible. One of the reviewers provided more comments than the others, but after the final revisions, all reviewers expressed satisfaction. The article was ultimately accepted on September 12.
