Experience sharing: Before submitting the manuscript, I did a lot of work and checked a lot of materials. After submission, it took about a month to receive a notification that the article was being considered, and each author was required to fill out an agreement. About 2 weeks later, we were informed that the article was being accepted and provided with revisions. The editor was very diligent and responsible. Approximately 12 days later, we received the notification: "we have completed our review of your letter to the editor and are pleased to accept it for publication in jama." It was really unexpected, and I felt like I was incredibly lucky. ?

Experience sharing: JAMA's impact factor in 2023 is 63.1, LANCET is 98.4, BMJ is 93.6, NEJM is 96.2. On the surface, except for JAMA, the impact factors of the other three prestigious journals are similar, but they are mainly influenced by the COVID-19 related articles from the past two years. By next year, the impact factors of BMJ and Lancet are expected to decrease significantly, but JAMA and NEJM are likely to remain stable.

I happened to browse through a journal and noticed an RCT article that I felt needed some additional information, so I spent one or two hours looking up literature and combining it with my own clinical experience to write a short commentary. After submitting it, I didn't pay much attention to it. In less than a month, I received a notification saying that the article was being considered for publication. Each author was required to fill out an agreement form. After completing it, it took about ten days to receive another notification saying that it was ready for acceptance. They then made edits to my article, word by word, quite meticulously. The communication was all done via email with the editors. About a week later, I received a notification saying, "We have completed our review of your Letter to the Editor and are pleased to accept it for publication in JAMA." This was my first time writing a letter to this journal, and I never expected it to be accepted so easily. Perhaps I was just lucky
