The length of the article is generally not very long, but the quality of the journal is very high. The review cycle seems to be three months and some, but BRIEF NOTES might be reviewed faster. In 2010, when the journal was ranked Q3, I submitted a paper, which was on a specialized topic. On the second day, the editor rejected the manuscript. That was on Christmas Eve, which tells me how hard the editor worked. Based on my personal submission experience, it is recommended to submit papers on fundamental experiments or a commonly interested topic, which would have a broad audience.
