The manuscript was submitted in mid-July, and the first review returned nearly a month later. There were nearly 30 questions, a major revision was required within three months, and experiments were needed to be supplemented. One of the reviewers gave a higher evaluation, and the other one was more neutral. After more than two months for supplementing experimentation and revision, it was revised and submitted in mid-October. It got accepted directly three weeks later. Generally speaking, the level of reviewers is quite high. They can see and understand the innovations I want to express. At the same time, they pointed out some very direct problems. I personally think that the review time is fast.

Sharing experience：Submitted on October 3, 2018, received first review on November 12, supplemented with 2 experiments, which were relatively easy to do; revised the first review on February 7, 2019, received second review on February 23, revised the second review on March 18, and was preliminarily accepted on the 21st. Overall, it took about 5 months, which went relatively smoothly. If I had returned the revisions faster, the process would have been shorter. However, the first review had a lot of comments, and I had to write 8 pages of responses. It was only after acceptance that my supervisor told me it was a prestigious developmental biology journal with relatively low publication volume per year. This was quite a pleasant surprise. The impact factor increased a bit recently, which was very gratifying~~~
