However, it is worth it, even though the journal's ranking in the Chinese Academy of Sciences has dropped from Zone 2 to Zone 3. Deep Sea is a well-regarded journal in my field, and the advantage compared to the Frontier series is that it is free of charge. The reviewers were very professional, providing three opinions: two major revisions and one minor revision. As a newcomer, I feel that other international journals in the field of marine biology and ecology are of similar quality, except for L&O.
