Engineering applications include mechanical engineering, construction, civil engineering, manufacturing, etc., but does not include financial engineering. Having two reviewers for this journal is absolutely enough. My senior fellow often gets assigned to this, and having two reviewers is a common scenario. Actually, having more reviewers is not a problem, it's just that the process is too slow, oh my god.

In the first round, there were two reviewers, but in the second round, one of them disappeared and a new reviewer was brought in. Generally, if the opinions of the two reviewers are relatively consistent, the editor will not bring in a third reviewer. However, I cannot say for sure if this is the case, because my senior brother had previously submitted to this journal and in each round a new reviewer was added. In the end, the reviewer numbers went up to #7, and he had to go through three rounds of revisions even after graduating.
