This journal is a journal of the Shanghai Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences. It used to be the English version of the Journal of Chemistry, also known as Chinese Chemistry. The quality of the innovation and of the papers is higher in Shenzhen. Because it is a domestic English-language journal, most are Chinese submissions. The impact factor is close to 1 and it may exceed 1 next year. Journal processes manuscripts very quickly, and there are responses in about 2 months. The journal editor very responsible.

The impact factor of this journal cannot increase, and there is a reason for it. The editorial department has a narrow vision. This journal is organized by the organic field, so its focus is limited to organic disciplines. Therefore, there are more organic articles (which may also be related to the circle). In fact, this journal is a comprehensive chemistry journal and should have a broader vision, focusing on interdisciplinary work and the intersection of chemistry with other disciplines. Comprehensive work has a broad scope and is easy to be cited, while organic articles are not easily cited. This is something that the Chinese Journal of Chemistry has done well, with an impact factor exceeding 10 this year. In 2021, I submitted a review article on interdisciplinary research to this journal, but it was not sent for review. Instead, I submitted it to the Chinese Journal of Chemistry, and it has already been cited over 30 times. Recently, I received a gift and a letter from CJC, inviting us to cite their reviews more. At that time, I thought, if you accepted my review article back then, the citation count wouldn't be low. When I submit my articles there, they are usually cited at least 20 times within two years, which means that even for journals with impact factors above 10.0, it won't lag behind.

It is a small circle journal organized by a specific organization. It is easy to not get reviewed if one does not submit within the circle, so I am now too lazy to submit. Changing the template is too troublesome, as it is not compatible with other journals. Let them play on their own, we will not submit or cite.
