There were only few comprehensive journals in the field of chemistry, and the influence of Chemistry-A European Journal is quite good. The difficulty of acceptance is not small. My own two articles that were finally published on AC were not sent for review by Chemistry-A European Journal, because the editors of Chemistry-A European Journal value the broad interest of the article. If it can only be targeted at readers in the field of analytical chemistry, it is likely not to be sent for review. The IF is like a bubble, just as the housing prices. Whether the journal’s word of mouth is good or not is easy to tell for the people in this field.

I submitted a manuscript to Angewandte Chemie International Edition. One reviewer recommended acceptance. One reviewer totally disagreed with acceptance and his refutation was totally unreasonable. The editor recommended to transfer to Chemistry—A European Journal. I don't want to toss, so I agreed. It was just accepted three days after the submission! The speed was extremely fast. I wish that the IF would also increasingly rise. The influence of Chemistry—A European Journal is still okay, after all it is a time-honored journal.

2020-1-3, the instant IF is 4.831. IF increases 0.05 than 4.78 on 2019-12-31. The conventional statistics of the Web of Science is slow, so many citations have not been included yet. The actual IF of the Web of Science in June would generally 1 point higher than the current calculated one. It can be estimated that the IF would be around 6. For pure chemical comprehensive journals, the IF always is not very high. According to the Journal of the American Chemical Society, the IF of Angewandte Chemie International Edition is also much lower than that of materials which is easily reached above 20.

Researched my article and started to submit in Chem. Common. Two reviewers, one suggested minor revision, one said article was not suitable for acceptance yet. They suggested that I submit to JPCC.  On July 20, I changed to European Chemistry instead. On August 30, I replied to the comments. A major revision was mainly aimed at my English, a lot of grammatical mistakes.  The reviewers replied to my revised draft on September 9 and accepted it on September 25. Overall, the process was quite smooth. The chemical efficiency in Europe is obviously not as high as that of Chem. Common.
