I have reviewed many manuscripts for this journal. The research direction is photocatalysis, and the manuscripts sent by the editor are also in this direction. Let me simply say my feelings and give you some references. The impact factor of this journal is not high, but I beg everyone who submits to it don’t write articles as experimental reports. Although articles on chemistry and materials are easy to be published, but they cannot be so valueless. Do a few characterizations, report the results, and then copy the photocatalytic mechanism that has been copied several times, and revise the language, and then an article came out! I have reviewed so many articles, and I rejected the articles like those at the beginning. Later, I realized that my rejection rate was too high and I really couldn’t bear it. For any manuscript with a little bit of its own analysis or point of view, I will require major revision, and give detailed comments after reading it carefully. I will say clearly how to revised it, and give some tips on where I think the author may be not able to revise. As long as the author revises the manuscript carefully, I will accept it.

Submitted on March 3, 2019, sent for review within 3 days, and comments returned on March 25. A reviewer, a total of 3 comments, which were very positive, saying that "This is very interesting work..." and so on. But I think my paper is a bit innovative, but it is still a bit valueless. The reviewer required a minor revision, and the editor was too generous, even giving us 45 days! I didn’t waste this time either. It was slow to supplement the data and revise the article all day. It took a month. (That’s why I feel that I am not suitable for scientific research.) Finally, I resubmitted on April 25, it showed sent to the editor on the 26th, and then it was accepted on the same day. It's really efficient!

I had a strange experience with this journal. After I submitted my manuscript, the editor said that there was only one reviewer available. Then, 4 days after my manuscript was submitted for review, I saw that it was listed on the submission system as being accepted… I had not received any reviews or notifications. The editor apologized and then re-submitted my paper to the review process. Nearly half a month later he emailed me and told me that my manuscript wasn’t suitable for this journal and that I should send it to a better journal, such as Macromolecules. I rejected his suggestion. Who knows what’s up with this journal? Submit if you want – who knows what will happen! Haha.

The manuscript submitted in mid-May was found to have not been accepted by any reviewers by early August, which was likely the cause of the delay.
