Three days after submission, the manuscript was under review. Approximately two months later, it was rejected by external review, with the reason being that it did not meet the qualifications for external review. It's outrageous, such a waste of time. This "Under review" status does not necessarily mean it will be sent for review, it could last for months without being sent out. Finally, they said, "We regret the decision is unfavorable, but hope this rapid response will enable you to submit your manuscript to another journal with little time lost. Thank you for considering GeroScience. We hope you will consider us again in the future." This is disgusting!

The journal Pure and Outrageous, if in a hurry, sincerely advise not to submit. After submitting, it shows "Under Review" after one week, then changes to "Reviewers invited". After three months, the status changes again to "Editor invited". It has been five months now and it is still in this status. Emails to the editor go unanswered, and when asking the editorial department, they reply saying that the editor is being reassigned. It is extremely outrageous.

This journal will never be submitted again in the future. It's very frustrating. After the review, they first said it didn't fit the scope of the journal, then raised some small issues, and finally rejected it. Submitted on March 1st, sent for external review, received the editorial comments at the end of May. The email included feedback from the editor-in-chief and two reviewers. Reviewer 1 mentioned that the article does not align with the scope of the journal, while Reviewer 2 only provided minor comments. The editor-in-chief decided to reject the submission based on their own judgment and Reviewer 1's suggestion. It's been quite a long wait of three months, but hopefully this information is helpful for others. It's frustrating how challenging it is to submit articles nowadays

This magazine GeroScience can be quite frustrating, the page displays external review for a month, the interface date changes frequently, and a month later they tell me my article lacks novelty and does not qualify for review, so it was rejected. They played mind games with me for half a day, pretending to be editors, why didn't they tell me earlier that my article lacked novelty?
