We recently submitted 5 papers to this journal, four of them were accepted and published, while the last one is still in reviewing. Not bad, but it is expensive (about $2000). I decided not to submit anymore to it this year. I do not have enough grant to pay the publication fee.

This is a new journal, with an IF of 5.3 at the beginning and 6.1 this year. Everyone says it’s not good. I think it's average, that is, the level of 4–5 points. It may be that there are more reviews and the impact factor is a little higher. The work I did were probably the level of 4–5. I first submitted it to Cancer Letters, and it was reviewed for three months, but got rejected at last and they suggested us to transfer to a journal of IF 4, which belongs to the same publisher. We did not want to give up after so long. So we chose this new journal. We revised it once and it was then accepted in almost two months. At that time, the page fee was just 800 Swiss francs, which was quite cheap. My lab mates saw that the impact factor was good, the manuscript was reviewed quickly, and they wanted to submit to it. I didn’t expect all the articles of the four of them to be rejected. You can see that not all article will be accepted if it is not good enough. After all, it is about 4–5. Not good, and not bad.
