The research content was about plant microbiome interaction. The first review results were released in one month. The questions raised by the reviewers were very sharp. Fortunately, the editor said that there was no need to make up the experiment and he required a minor revision directly. The replies to the question were longer than the manuscript text. We received comments 20 days later, the reviewer was satisfied with the revision, and then it was accepted after some minor problems were solved. The current real-time impact factor checked on the Web of Science is just 4.5. I don’t know if it can be maintained as above six next year.

1. The article on bioinformatics has been published; 2. It was soon under review after with editor, and the review was relatively slow. For the first review, it was rejected in 3 months. However, (the amount of) our data was big, so it can be resubmitted after revision of the editor. The editor left the channel of resubmission; 3. I then resubmitted the article after revision, and it took about 2 months for each review. There were 4 times of revision and resubmission. This was my first time of submission, and it took one year and more than 2 months from submission to publication. The cycle was a bit long; 4. There were 2 reviewers invited, one of them partial to technique, and the other one partial to scientific questions, and both of them were relatively professional; 5. Fortunately, the impact factor of this journal has been rising, and the reputation is also very good. Therefore, in general, the quality is OK. If you are in a hurry to have an article published, it is not recommended to submit to this journal.

I had a pleasant experience with this journal. Submission was easy, with no constraints on the format. The reviews were concise and to the point. The editorial staff was very helpful and the editor made a timely decision after (minor) revisions. Proofs came in a week later. Summary: I'm happy and so are my co-authors. The only minor issue we had is that the size limit on supplementary datafiles is a bit low for a systems biology journal.

1 week after submission, with editor for 2 months, no response from reviewers, received reply within a week after reminding, revised the manuscript based on editor and reviewers' comments (felt like peers, reviewers' comments were very targeted), took almost 1.5 months to supplement experimental results and resubmit, accepted a month later

Submitted on September 27th, the next day UR (under review), received the first review comments on November 9th (minor revisions). Resubmitted on November 14th, and accepted on November 17th (delayed by 2 days due to formatting issues). The editing efficiency is truly high. It took about 50 days from submission to acceptance.

2022.7.21 First submission; sent for review on 7.30; first round of review ended on 8.31, both reviewers provided very positive results, but the editor believed that some content still needed modification and concluded with a rejection and request for resubmission; revised and resubmitted on 9.6; reviewed by the editor on 9.12 (due to some minor issues on my part, the editor had to send it back twice which delayed the process); directly sent for review by the editor on 10.3; editor sent an email directly accepting the article.
