The quality of the review is still very high, and the speed is not too slow. After sending the revised manuscript back, it was formally accepted in principle a week later. There was a slight problem with the paper format (my own fault). Moreover, it seems that each editor has different requirements for the format, which is based on the format of published literature. Although I thought there was no problem, this editor said it was not acceptable. Also, with the Western New Year holiday approaching, it took a long time before it was officially accepted

Submitted in August 2021, the first review was returned at the end of November with one major revision and one minor revision for resubmission.
In April 2022, it was resubmitted and assigned a different reviewer. At the end of July, the second review resulted in rejection.
After spending two weeks arguing, it was revised extensively and returned in September. The third review had minor revisions and was completed by the end of October. Finally, it was accepted at the end of November.

Objectively speaking, JGR and JPO are at least two levels higher than JGR and JPO. The suggestions I received for the data assimilation and mesoscale vortex articles I posted on JGR were merely superficial, and the revisions were easily accepted. In our group, we try to avoid submitting to JGR if possible. It is better for researchers to publish in JPO, CD, JC, and similar journals.

An article on ocean-air interaction was done quite easily. Originally, I planned to submit it to the English version of the Journal of Oceanography, but my advisor suggested trying JGR Oceans.
